Dot Hill to Provide Entry-level Storage Products Through Extended Agreement with Sun Microsystems

CARLSBAD, Calif., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dot Hill Systems Corp. (Nasdaq: HILL) announced today that it has expanded and extended its multi-year product purchase and development agreement with Sun through January 2011. Under the terms of the agreement, Sun will continue to develop storage solutions for the Sun StorEdge(TM) family of entry/volume storage products, while utilizing key elements from Dot Hill including the newly acquired storage and management controller technologies from Chaparral Network Storage.

The existing Sun StorEdge 3000 product family continues to foster key initiatives within Sun including support of the Solaris(TM) 10 Operating System (OS), advanced entry-level storage functionality for the Sun AMD Opteron (TM) and SPARC(R) server families, as well as industry-leading price/performance and heterogeneous connectivity in the general purpose volume server market.
