In the fourth quarter of 2002, Dot Hill began a strategic shift in product distribution. The company initiated a move from direct to indirect sales channels and developed a formal channel program. As part of its focus on indirect sales channels, Dot Hill outsourced substantially all of its manufacturing operations to Solectron, a leading electronics manufacturing services company. The agreement with Solectron allows Dot Hill to reduce sales cycle times and manufacturing infrastructure, enhance working capital and improve margins by taking advantage of Solectron's manufacturing and procurement economies of scale.
Dot Hill's solutions are installed around the world and are serviced and supported globally 24x7x365 through a strategically located network of technicians and engineers. Its customers comprise telecommunications providers, defense contractors, and service providers as well as top-tier OEMs, system integrators and VARs, including Sun Microsystems, Motorola, Network Appliance, CDW and General Dynamics.
